The St. Bonaventure University men’s basketball team will go for their sixth straight win as they travel to Rocket Arena on Saturday to face Ohio University. 

The Bonnies hold a 10-1 record, with their most recent win coming Wednesday against Colgate University. The Bonnies trailed by 13 points at halftime, before they turned it around in the second and won 85-77.  

Bonaventure head coach Mark Schmidt was impressed with the way the team came back. 

“You never want to get down, but it’s good that we have guys that can fight when things aren’t going well.”  

In the game, the Bonnies were led by senior guard Cayden Charles and senior forward Frank Mitchell. Charles recorded 20 points, while Mitchell put up 19 points and a season-high 18 rebounds.  

The Bobcats come into this one with a 3-6 record but have won their last two matchups. Their most recent win was over Marshall University, scoring a season-high 88 points.  

Senior guard Jackson Paveletzke leads Ohio averaging 17.2 points per game. In thier last contest, he led all scorers with 22 points.  

The Bobcats have struggled defensively this season, as their opponents average 81 points per game. 

The last matchup between the two schools came in 2019, when Ohio defeated Bonaventure, 65-53.  

Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. with Radio coverage available on the Bonnies Online Network, 100.1 FM Bradford & Olean, 1340 AM Jamestown, 106.9 FM Hornell and 92.1 FM Rochester.
