Hello! Welcome back to my blog where I discuss my five favorite football bets of the week. Let’s start with a recap of last week’s picks.
Recap:
New Orleans-4 vs. Seattle
My hardest pick of last week ended up being my second loss. Best to start with the bad news first. New Orleans played good enough to beat the mediocre Seahawks. I thought New Orleans could expose Seattle’s awful defense, but no one besides Alvin Kamara showed up to play offense. Kamara ended with over 170 scrimmage yards. No one did much else. The Saints only won 13-10. New Orleans and Seattle are both stay away teams for me going forward.
Carolina-3 vs. Giants
This is the last of the bad news I swear. This was my worst beat. The Giants still suck; however, Sam Darnold looks like he used to in the Meadowlands. Darnold threw for 111 yards and a pick before he was benched. Denver and Carolina look like the biggest frauds as both haven’t won since week 3. Daniel Jones played a solid game, throwing for 200 yards and a touchdown. That was all that was needed as New York smoked Carolina 25-3. It’s looking crazier and crazier that Carolina gave up picks to get Darnold.
Green Bay-8 vs. Washington
Now for the good news. Green Bay is still cooking with gas as they beat Washington last week 24-10. Green Bay’s offense was too good as Rodgers threw for 274 yards and 3 touchdowns. Washington just doesn’t have the offense to make up for their lackluster defense.
Las Vegas-2.5 vs. Philadelphia
This matchup was similar to the Green Bay game. The Eagles didn’t have the offensive firepower with Jalen Hurts under center to compete with the Raiders. Carr threw for 323 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Las Vegas is looking dangerous as the backfield ran in two touchdowns as well.
New England-7 vs. Jets
This was the easiest cover. New England isn’t great, but Belichick knows how to beat shitty teams. That’s exactly what the Jets are, especially now with Mike White under center. Easy money as the Patriots rolled 54-13.
Picks:
Buffalo-14 vs. Miami
This pick involves some history. The Bills have dominated the Dolphins recently. The last two games the Bills have outscored the Dolphins 91-26. Also, the Bills are coming off a bye week after a loss. The Bills were undefeated last year after the bye. Take the Bills here at home.
Tennessee+2.5 vs. Indianapolis
Tennessee is rolling right now. They have two impressive wins against the Bills and the Chiefs. Derrick Henry is making every other running back look average. Henry has 290 yards more than any other running back. Man is an alien. I suppose Vegas and the oddsmakers are thinking the Titans are due for a loss; however, I don’t see it. The Colts have beat up on mediocre or bad teams as of late. Take the Titans to cover and to win if you can.
Dallas+3 vs. Minnesota
Another intriguing line. Dallas is undefeated against the spread so far this year. I don’t trust Kirk Cousins to be able to keep up with Dallas’ high-powered offense without making costly mistakes. Give me the Cowboys.
Cincinati-11 vs. Jets
This game is simple. The Bengals are one of the best teams in football. The Jets are starting a guy named Mike White. Who you ask? Exactly. Give me the Bengals.
Tampa Bay-4.5 vs. New Orleans
Tampa has one of the best offenses in the league. New Orleans doesn’t seem like they trust Jameis Winston to make big throws. Give me the Bucs as New Orleans won’t be able to keep pace with the Bucs.
Last Word:
Max Verstappen cashed in at the American Grand Prix as he won the race. What a great weekend for Formula 1 as more than 400,000 fans attended the weekend. Start watching if you haven’t already. One tip I would give also is to start betting teasers. Teasers are great as the lines are dropped for each game but the money to be made is still good. They have been successful this year as the best teams haven’t been upset when they have been double digit favorites. Best of luck everyone!
