ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. — The St. Bonaventure University women’s basketball team played its final exhibition game, defeating Roberts Wesleyan Saturday afternoon 74-41 in the Reilly Center.

The Bonnies started fast. Swift ball movement along with impressive shooting from sophomore guard Elyse MacDonough helped the Bonnies finish the first quarter with an 18-9 lead.

Both teams struggled with turnovers in the second quarter, resulting in a slow start. However, the Bonnies took control of the game and led 37-20 at halftime.

The Bonnies relentless defense stifled the RedHawks offense in the third quarter. They outscored Roberts Wesleyan 18-4. Bonnies senior guard Kaylee Krisztof led the scoring in the third with seven points to bring the score to 55-24 at the end of the quarter.

The Bonnies maintained their defensive pressure in the fourth quarter. Freshman Lola Gralton’s 10 points in the final minutes helped the Bonnies to their 74-41 victory.

The Bonnies will open their regular season with D’Youville University on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 6 p.m. at the Reilly Center.
