Freshman Caitrin Coyle led the way for the newly formed St. Bonaventure Women’s golf team in their first ever tournament. Coyle placed 43rd in the Charge at Quail Valley’s 53-player field at Quail Valley Golf Club in Littlestown, P.A.
Coyle opened with a first round 85, including a birdie on the par-4 14th. She followed that with another 85 and a birdie, and ending with 90 putting her at +44 for the tournament.
Freshmen Josie Phillips and Lizzie Noel carded totals of 90-92-85 (267) and 94-91-101 (286), respectively. Phillips logged eagle on the par-4 eighth, just one of three total eagles in the tournament and the only one on #8.
Senior Michaela Lauper (+101) recorded 106-114-98 for a total of 318.
Seton Hall University took first place with a score of 889 (+25), followed by Lehigh at 891 (+27) and Fairfield’s 901 (+37).
St. Bonaventure women’s golf returns to action September 28-29 in the Autumn Harvest at Architects Golf Club in Lopatcong, N.J.
