FAIRFAX, V.A. – The George Mason Patriots used two redshirt-senior forward Zoë Vidaurre goals in the opening 20 minutes to defeat the St. Bonaventure Bonnies 4-0 Thursday night at George Mason Stadium.

In the first 45 minutes of play, George Mason applied significant offensive pressure while limiting St. Bonaventure’s offense. In the first half, the Patriots outshot the Bonnies 7-1, with five George Mason shots on goal.

George Mason’s Vidaurre scored on a penalty kick, the game’s opening goal at 16:30. Just 2 minutes and 48 seconds later, Vidaurre scored on another penalty kick, increasing the George Mason lead to 2-0.

In the second half, the Patriots continued their offensive push. At 54:30, sophomore midfielder Gianna Chrapek notched her first goal of the season.

Just over six minutes later, at 60:43, junior midfielder Molly Starner pushed George Mason’s lead to 4-0 with her second goal of the year.

In the final 29 minutes and 17 seconds of play, Bonaventure mustered just one shot and failed to score.

George Mason advances to 4-6-2 (3-1, A-10), while St. Bonaventure drops to 3-7-2 (0-4, A-10).

The Bonnies will return home to face George Washington University while the Patriots visit Duquesne. Both matchups will be played on Sunday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m., with the games streamed live on ESPN+.
