Hello! Welcome back to my blog where I discuss my five favorite football bets of the week. Let’s start with a recap of last week’s picks.
Recap:
Michigan-3 ended up being a tie which is unfortunate. Cade McNamara didn’t have the best game. He finished with 295 yards, 0 touchdowns and 1 interception. Michigan did their damage on the ground and squeaked by.
Alabama-18 was a bad pick. This might not be the year to play the long game with the Tide. What I mean by that is usually you can pick Alabama every week and at the end of the year you can make money. I’m now not sure you can choose that route. Alabama’s defense looked average against Texas A&M. They allowed 379 yards but gave up 41 points. Alabama needs some more resounding wins to lure me back in.
Bills+3 against the Chiefs was my easiest pick. The Bills are the far superior team and it showed Sunday night. Mahomes threw 2 interceptions and the Bills did whatever they wanted on offense. They exposed the Chiefs secondary and had a 38-20 win.
Cowboys-7 vs the Giants was another easy pick. The Giants suck and the Cowboys have one of the best offenses in the league. This showed on Sunday as the Cowboys destroyed the Giants by winning 44-20
Packers-2.5 was a close one as the Pack won 25-22 versus the Bengals. The Bengals have something special with Ja’Marr Chase, who had 159 yards receiving along with a touchdown. The real story of this game was the kickers. Good lord! What a way to scare betters by missing a combined five kicks!
Picks:
Buffalo-5.5 vs Titans
The Bills haven’t come close to not covering the spread since their week one loss to Pittsburgh. I see the Bills covering easily again. The Titans defense is like swiss cheese: way too many holes. They made Zach Wilson look good. That is not an easy task. The Bills will cover due to their ability to stop the run. They’ll contain Derrick Henry enough to make Tannehill throw some possessions away.
Kansas City-7 vs Washington
This has to be the bounce back game for Kansas City. If not then they are truly screwed. Washington’s defense has sucked this year, as they are 31st in the league in points allowed. Kansas City should cover simply because Taylor Heinicke can not keep up with the Chiefs offense.
Chargers +2.5 vs Baltimore
This may be my favorite pick of the weekend. If you can, take the Chargers outright. The Ravens are frauds. They could easily be 2-3 or 1-4. They have been bailed out by Lamar Jackson and Justin Tucker. Jackson has made some clutch plays and Tucker made the longest kick in NFL history to win against the Lions. The Lions! Three of their four wins have been one score games. The Ravens haven’t played a team as good as the Chargers. Herbert should have a good day and the Chargers offense should be good enough to at least cover.
Dallas-3 vs New England
Mac Jones has been off to the best start of the rookie QBs. That isn’t saying much. However, he hasn’t shown he can make the big plays, as he has only thrown for 5 touchdowns in 5 games. He is also 20th in the league in passing yards. Give me the explosive Cowboys offense along with a feisty defense to cover. Did I mention the Cowboys are 5-0 against the spread?
Arizona+3.5 vs Cleveland
Arizona is due for a loss, however I like the value of the undefeated team getting points. Kyler Murray is my MVP so far and he should keep this game close. Give me the Cardinals.
Last Word:
I hope anyone who has the time goes back and watches the Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder fight. It was one of the best fights I’ve seen. A total of five knockdowns and two massive men throwing haymakers while taking serious punishment. The fight was even better as I picked Fury to get it done and he did. Best of luck everyone!
